R1 Camera Settings

Updated

Overview

The R1 Camera Settings give you control over how your 360° images are captured, processed, and stitched together. Through the PLANIX app, you can adjust HDR, Noise Reduction, and Stitching modes to balance image quality, scan speed, and measurement accuracy based on the needs of each project.

These settings allow operators to fine-tune the camera for different environments and outcomes, whether the goal is a polished, client-ready 3D tour or precise floor plan measurements, ensuring every iGUIDE project meets its intended purpose.

HDR (High Dynamic Range)

  1. Merges images with different exposures to retain detail in bright and dark areas
  2. Toggle on to select an intensity:
    • High (-5EV/+2EV) — default setting
    • Medium (-3EV/+3EV)
    • Low (-1EV/+2EV)
  3. Higher HDR levels slow down scan capture speed

Noise Reduction

  1. Captures and combines multiple images for a smoother result that exceeds the sensor's native output.
  2. Toggle on to select an intensity:
    1. High
    2. Medium
    3. Low — default setting
  3. Enabling Noise Reduction reduces scan capture speed.

Stitching: Static vs Dynamic

  1. Dynamic Stitching (default): Produces smoother, polished panoramas — best for client-facing 3D tours.
  2. Static Stitching: Provides more reliable alignment — best when precise measurements are required.
  3. Visibility of stitching transitions depends on the layout of the space and where the stitching line falls.

Important Notes

  • Selecting High HDR (-5EV/+2EV) slows shot processing and adds delay between captures
  • Setting Noise Reduction to High has the same slowing effect on capture speed
